Old Crawford’s Orchard is the area around a former late-19th century homestead down near Dairy Creek, with a number of old fruit trees on it that likely were planted by the original homesteaders (one of the people who owned the farm early on was named Crawford, so we borrowed that name just for fun). This area, because it is low-lying and near the bends in the creek, is mostly in the land we rent to the National Resource Conservation Service for its stream restoration project. But we are allowed to access that land, and one of the things we do is pick fruit for preserving!
